The Japanese‑style excavator mechanical grapple, also named mechanical scrap grapple or manual log grapple, is an economical material handling attachment favored by scrap recycling yards. Different from hydraulic grapples, this Japanese‑style mechanical grab does not need additional hydraulic pipelines. It utilizes the excavator's existing bucket cylinder linkage system to realize opening, clamping and releasing movements.
